The Richland Ranger Bantams continue to have a stunning hockey season. Together, coaches Braden Kindopp and Shane Schantz continue to guide the Bantams through an unforgettable season. During this '24-'25 season the Bantams have had 13 league games so far successfully winning each one placing them first in league standings with the NDAHA (North Dakota Amateur Hockey Association) Bantam B West league.
Like so many other players throughout the Ranger Club the Bantams have also been fighting multiple illnesses and playing short but through it all they have pushed through and were able to add another two league wins to their season.
Friday, Jan. 24, the Bantams traveled to Crosby to take on the Comets. The Bantams played steadily throughout the game, scoring one goal in the first period and 4 goals in both the second and third periods. The game ended in a 9-3 victory and the first win of the weekend for the Rangers.
Saturday, Jan. 25, the Rangers had an opportunity to test their skills, knowledge and teamwork against a team two levels above them. The non-league matchup against the Watford City Oilers Bantam A team gave the Ranger Bantams their most challenging game this season! Scoring first was the Rangers, Conner Price with an assist by Jake Schlothauer, then Watford City answered back by scoring three. Rangers, Cooper Thiel scored unassisted giving them the last goal of the first period. second period started with Watford City scoring 2. Midway through the second there was an unfortunate injury to the Rangers, Jake Schlothauer rendering him unable to finish the game. Ending the second period was a goal from Rangers, Cooper Thiel assisted by Conner Price. Ultimately, the Rangers did not score in the third resulting in a non-league loss to the Oilers.
Sunday, Jan. 26, was the second home game of the weekend for the Rangers, bringing them face to face with the Dickinson Outlaws. Both offense and defense worked together as a team securing a shutout victory of 5-0 for the Rangers giving them their second win of the weekend.
It has been said "A hockey team is like a puzzle. Every piece is vital." Well, that is absolutely true for the Rangers. All our family, friends, fans, sponsors and teammates are a piece of our hockey puzzle. This team and this club could not be what it is without our "puzzle pieces" and the Richland Ranger Bantam team would like to give a huge thank you to all each of you for your continued support and sponsorship.
Next up for your Ranger Bantams is two home games: Friday, Jan. 31 vs. Williston Orange at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2 vs Watford City at 9 a.m.
There are only a few home games left for the Rangers so please come out to the arena and show your support.
