To All Members of the Richland County Community

Letter to The Editor

The Richland County Jaycees are sad to announce that we will not have the ability to host many of our annual events and projects this year. These events and projects include posting flags and the 4th of July fireworks show. We will be re-evaluating our situation later in the year to determine our ability for Halloween candy donations, Thanksgiving meals, and our toy drive for Christmas. If you are part of a business that has participated with our flag posting program please reach out to one of our members if you would like us to drop a flag off for you to post throughout the year. While we are unable to post them, we would still like to provide the flags for our community to display proudly.

While our members are saddened to make this announcement, the simple fact is that there are just not enough of us. We will continue to make events happen to the best of our ability. Currently, we are still planning to host both our Team Demolition Derby and our Annual Demolition Derby this summer to ensure we have the ability to sponsor scholarships, candy donations, Thanksgiving meals, and toys for foster families at Christmas.

If you or someone you know is a young person in our community that would be interested in learning more about our organization, please have them reach out via our Facebook page, or contact our Chapter Committee Chair Harleigh Manley directly at 406-480-3069.

We thank the Richland County community for their continued support of our organization as we strive to create leadership opportunities for our young people through community involvement.
