Marian Albrecht, 98, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at her son's home in Bandera, TX, with family by her side.

Marian Albrecht, born Marian Osborne, on August 22, 1926, was the first American born to parents, Samuel Osborne and Irene Osborne after they immigrated from United Kingdom through Canada. The family of Marian with her parents, and two older siblings who were born in Canada eventually moved to Sidney, MT where all the children attended rural school and eventually transferring to Sidney High School.

Marian attended the Nursing Cadets program after graduation. She graduated from nursing school on September 30, 1947. During or after the nursing training process she trained in mental illness and also helped injured veterans. This is where she met Charles Albrecht, her future husband.

The two married on June 3, 1947. The marriage preceded the birth of their first son, Dennis in 1949 and the birth of their second, Gary in 1952. Over the years Marian and family lived in California, Chicago, and South Dakota for further nurses training and/or work prior to moving back to Sidney, MT.

Marian was a devoted nurse. She became one of the first female Nurse Anesthetist (CNRA) in the country. Marian worked as a CNRA in the Sidney Hospital system as well as traveling for surgeries in towns around the area for 45 years. Marian held the Sidney Hospital record for employment length for years after her retirement.

Outside of employed nursing, Marian spent time taking care of family ailments. She also loved gardening, bringing in a harvest of flowers, raspberries, tomatoes, and cucumbers every year. Marian, with or without her sister Eunice used to do sewing, painting, and other constructive projects. She was a lifelong member of the Lower Yellowstone VFW Post 4099 Auxiliary, where she spent hours cooking uncounted meals and arrangements for various gatherings. Marian was very self-sufficient up until mid-2024, she drove herself in her own car and, until November, lived, cooked, and fended for herself.

Marian is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Irene; her husband Charles Albrecht; her siblings, Frank Osborn, Eunice Williams and infant brother Samuel; and her son Dennis Albrecht.

Marian is survived by her son Gary and his wife Vera as well as multiple grandchildren, Danny, David, and Gabriel Albrecht, and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Sterling, Gage, and Kal'el Albrecht.
