Keene Fire/Rescue Dept. Receives RDFC Grant Award

As a member of the Rural Development Finance Cooperation (RDFC), communities in McKenzie Electric's service area are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $3000 for community-based projects.

RDFC has recently granted $2,400 to the Keene Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department, a local department where Eric Hellandsaas, a McKenzie Electric lineworker, is the Keene Fire/Rescue Department assistant fire chief. The volunteer fire department is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of its resident providing prompt and efficient support to the community The grant funds will be used to help defer the costs associated with bringing power into the new fire hall facility, scheduled for completion in the first part of this year.
