The Richland County Sports Complex (RCSC) is now holding registration for a Pickleball Tournament that will take place on Feb. 1-2. The RCSC is located in Sidney at 1281 S. Central Ave.
Pickleball, the fastest, growing paddle sport that is sweeping the nation, is proving to be more than just a game. It's becoming a powerful way to bring communities together for a good cause.
This tournament is a fundraiser for Sidney High School graduate Taylan Hansen's International English Program trip. She will be traveling to Costa Rica for a mission trip. The tournament coordinator, Terry Roth said, "All proceeds go to Taylan's trip. There is a limit of 8 teams per division. The deadline to enter is Wednesday, Jan. 29.
There will be prizes awarded for the winners. The registration fee is $20 per player per division. Teams can have two or three players and substitutes are allowed. There will be a beginners 2.0 doubles division and also men's, ladies, and mixed doubles division in the 3.0+. The 2.0 division, is a beginner level for new players that are learning the game. The 3.0+ division is for more experienced and skilled players.
