Sidney, MT – Sidney Health Center is excited to announce the arrival of its first baby of 2025! Maddox Allan Richardson was born to proud parents MacKenzie and Cameron Richardson, Williston, ND, on Jan. 1 at 2:44 a.m. Maddox weighed 7 lbs, 13 oz, and measured 20.25" long. He joins his big brother Knox.
To celebrate this joyous occasion, the Sidney Health Center Caring Corner Gift Shop and Good Cents Store Volunteers gifted the Richardson family a basket filled with baby essentials valued at over $200.
While Maddox is the first baby of the new year, 2024 was an active year for Sidney Health Center's obstetric department. A total of 270 babies were delivered, including 150 boys and 120 girls. On average, 22 babies were born each month, with the busiest months being July with 31 births, May with 30 births, and June and September with 27 births each.
Sidney Health Center's female Obstetrician Gynecologists provide essential obstetrical services to women living in the MonDak region including preconception counseling, genetic screening and diagnosis as well as management of both low and high-risk pregnancies through delivery and follow-up care.
The Sidney Health Center Labor and Delivery unit features Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) rooms. These rooms are equipped with Hill-Rom birthing beds. During labor, options for pain medication are offered. A trained and experienced OB and Nursery Staff is available 24 hours a day.
Sidney Health Center's commitment to families extends beyond delivery. The obstetric team offers pre- and post-delivery support, including:
One-Day Childbirth Classes: Designed for expectant parents, these free sessions cover relaxation techniques, the physiology of childbirth, delivery types, anesthesia options, breastfeeding, and childcare. The childbirth class is offered four times per year with the first one in 2025 scheduled to take place in February.
Nurture Nest Café: Held monthly on the second Tuesday from 3- 5 p.m. in the Sidney Health Center OB/GYN Clinic Waiting Room, this drop-in event provides valuable support for families with children from newborn to toddler. A nurse is available to weigh babies and answer questions, offering a resourceful space for breastfeeding support and general parenting advice.
