Scooter's is in the midst of a rapid expansion across the United States into many regions they have not previously had a presence.
When Leif and Teresa Anderson, Sidney, learned there would be a franchise opportunity in Sidney, they felt it might be a good fit and also wanted to see the franchise under local ownership rather than the trend of outside companies owning the franchises in smaller communities. They had both been to the Scooter's in Fargo ND, and thought it could be something the Sidney community would appreciate.

The co-founders' daughter was nicknamed "Scooter" and, when naming the company, "Scooter's" became the favorite. It fit well with their mission to keep customers happy by helping them "scoot in and scoot out" quickly.
