A 2025 Chevrole6 Silverado was traveling eastbound on ND Highway 23 at 3:36 a.m. and rear ended a 2012 Kenworth truck that was eastbound on ND Highway 23 also. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, Rance Bennett, El Dorado, KA, died from injuries on the scene. The driver of the Kenworth truck, Augustin Solis Munoz, Westport, WA, was uninjured. The driver of the Silverado was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Names will be released pending next of kin notification.
Other agencies involved in the crash were Three Affiliate Tribes Police, McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office, New Town Fire Department and New Town Ambulance.
