The Alexander Activities Club will be hosting their 4th annual Christmas Stroll on Dec. 5 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Alexander Public School. The club’s President Sherry Pelser and Vice President Elizabeth McKee will open with a welcome and the lighting of the community Christmas tree in the old gym.
The students of Alexander School have been busy preparing for the stroll by decorating the hallways in an “Elf” theme, and cooking up treats for all that attend! Each class decorates a section, and a winner is picked from both the elementary and high school. Last year’s winners chose this year’s “Elf” theme; last year, the event followed a “Grinch” theme. The winner’s also get a pizza party or Soda Shack treat.
Shopping and food vendors will be spready throughout the commons and cafeteria area, and gyms. S Student groups will offer food as well, with one class offering tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, and homemade macaroni and cheese. The senior class will be hosting a hot chocolate bar and a soup. The First Lego League will have caramel apple nachos, cookies, and Jingle Juice or similar punch for sale. The girls’ basketball team will be running the Soda Shack, which mixes up Italian soda or coffee shop type drinks. The indoor snowball fight, with plush snowballs and gift-wrapped obstacles, will start at 6 p.m. Groups will be separated by age and play in 15-minute sessions. Buddy the Elf, Josie, and little elves will even make an appearance! “Elf” the movie will be shown at 7 p.m. with popcorn offered.
There will be multiple picture opportunities, with both a freewill donation photographer with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and several “selfie stations” where you can make your own memories with the Christmas-themed décor. Hayrides and ornament decorating offer more opportunities for holiday fun at the Stroll, and Fierce by: KD Dance Studio of Alexander will be entertaining as well. The Alexander Activities Club and School have gone above and beyond to provide a holiday event for their community with fun, shopping, food, and entertainment, and look forward to welcoming all to the event!
