On a cold snowy Saturday afternoon, the Fairview Warriors welcomed the Scobey Spartans to Starr Field for a semi-final matchup with a trip to the championship on the line. As expected with the weather, the scoring was at a premium.
The Warriors jumped out on top in the first quarter on a Tyler Loan 41-yard scamper. The halftime score was 6-0. Fairview scored again in the third quarter. Loan ran in a 3-yard touchdown after a long drive down the field. With under two-minutes in the game the Warriors iced the game with another Loan 34-yard touchdown run. With the score 18-0 the Warriors could feel the win was in hand, but Scobey did not go quietly. The Spartans threw the ball down the field and into the end zone bringing the score to 18-6.
Needing a successful onside kick to keep their hopes alive, the Spartans responded by securing the onside kick. Scobey once again marched down the field but were denied on 4th and 1 on the 5-yard line. The Warriors knelt out the last 5 seconds of the game to punch their ticket to their second consecutive championship game. The game will be a rematch of last year's championship game against Belt.
