The Sidney Kiwanis Club has had a fun month celebrating its 100th Anniversary thanks to a great committee that created programs each week to engage the membership and remind them of the long and productive history of the club.
Awards were given out on Thursday, Oct. 24. The "Most likely to" awards were voted on by the members and the winners were: Rick Norby, take a pie to the face; Breeann Shanks, read the invocation wrong; Alan Seigfreid, get seconds on dessert; Phil Johnson, forget they joined a committee; Brian McGinnis, make a sarcastic comment; Katie Dasinger and Leif Anderson, recruit a new member; Randy Johnson, sell the most apples; Dianne Swanson, make you smile; Tami Christensen, volunteer; Gary Schoepp, come to a program.
The highlight of the day was the presentation of the Distinguished Leader Award to Kiwanian Kali Godfrey. The award states: Sidney Kiwanis 100th Anniversary 2024 Distinguished Leader. For your exceptional leadership, sacrifices for your community and never-ending creativity. We all thank you for always being the first to help and being everyone's visionary.
Congratulations Kali!
