Sidney High School Powder Puff Football Slated for Oct. 13

The Sidney High School Close-Up Program will be hosting their annual Powder Puff flag football game fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 13. The kickoff is at 5:45 p.m. at the Swanson football field.

Admission fee is $5. There will also be concessions and a bake sale. “This game is a fundraiser for the Close-Up Organization. We use the funds to take a trip to Washington, DC, to use our nation’s capital as our classroom. We can’t wait for the game. We hope to see you there to support all the hard work these participants have put into it.” said Close-Up member and junior coach Kalen Price.

This is the 21st annual Close-Up Powder Puff fundraiser. The Close-Up adviser is Brad Faulhaber.

The senior girls will play the junior girls in a competitive flag football game. Each female team is coached by a male athlete. Teams have been practicing for weeks to get ready for the game. Junior coach, Parker Verhasselt said, “I’m confident we’ll get it done out there and win this game.”

The senior girls disagree. The seniors are going for a sweep of their opponents. They are hoping to be only the second class to win both games their junior and senior years.

Don’t miss the entertainment on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 5:45 p.m.
