On Friday, Oct. 4, the Sidney High School golf team began round one of the State A golf tournament in Polson with a late start due to a frost delay.
After round one, the Eagle boys were in sixth place after shooting a team score of 326. Tanner Tiesen led the way after shooting his lowest round of the year with a 76. He was tied for 11th.
The Eagle girls shot a team score of 425 and were in eighth place. They were led by Izzy Baisch who shot a 94. She ended round one in 24th place.

The second and final round of the State A golf tournament was played on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The Eagle girls team improved from day one by shooting a 408. They came home with 8th place and were led by Izzy Baisch who shot an 89. Baisch had a two-day total of 183 to lead the team for 16th place.
The Eagle boys shot the same score they did on round one and that 326 secured them to bring home 6th place. The top round of the day was Blake Johnson's 80. Tanner Tiesen had a two-day total of 157 to lead the boys in a tie for 17th.
