Fairview Warriors Come Out On Top Against Circle Wildcats 29-24

The top-ranked Warriors traveled to Circle to face the third-ranked Wildcats on Friday. It was a beautiful evening highlighted with great plays and an outstanding game. Circle scored on their first possession and completed it with the two-point conversion making the score 8-0. The Wildcats defense then recovered a Fairview fumble to stop their first drive.

After a couple defensive stops by both sides, Tyler Loan took the ball 50 yards for the Warriors first touchdown. He followed it up with the PAT kick making it 8-7 at the end of the first quarter. Circle scored again early in the second quarter pushing their lead to 16-7. The Warriors answered with a Troy Karst 10-yard run making it 16-14 at the half.

Fairview was the only team to score in the third quarter on a 27-yard run by Loan pushing the score to 21-16 to start the fourth quarter. Circle took a long drive down the field getting to a first-and-goal on the 1-yard line.

Fortunately for the Warriors, the QB muffed the snap and Wyatt McPherson was able to pounce on it securing the lead for the Warriors. Two plays later, Loan sprinted up the middle outrunning the Wildcat defense for a 75-yard touchdown extending their lead to 29-16. Circle was able to score their final touchdown on an outstanding pass and catch on fourth down. Fairview recovered the onside kick and after a couple first downs kneeled the clock out to secure the win and remain undefeated.

The final score ended up 29-24 and was what fans should expect with two top ranked teams. Tyler Loan ran the ball 22 times for 252 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also threw for another 114 yards. Deacon Gackle and Wyatt McPherson led the defense with 11 tackles each, while McPherson added a forced fumble to his fumble recovery. The Warriors will host the Scobey Spartans on Friday.
