It is my honor and pleasure to write this unsolicited endorsement of Susie Hedalen to be elected as the next State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
I have known Susie her entire administrative career having worked with her going all the way back to her first administrative position in Grass Range. Since that time, we have worked together on a wide range of activities. Specifically, we served together in leadership at the Office of Public Instruction and now serve as chair and vice-chair of the Montana Board of Public Education.
I personally have been involved in public education in Montana and North Dakota for over thirty years and have worked with multiple State Superintendents on both sides of the border during that time. I know what it takes to lead a state agency and what kind of a person we need working in that office.
Susie’s wide-sweeping background in education from the smallest local level to the top level of leadership in the state has her uniquely positioned to become the next State Superintendent. This critical job has always been an elected position in the State of Montana, but we have never had the benefit of an experienced SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT assume the role of State Superintendent.
That time is now, and I encourage you to support Susie for Schools and elect Susie Hedalen.
