Stephanie Hostetler Friend, Fairview, is battling breast cancer at just 39 years old. To help her through this rough time, there will be a benefit on Saturday, Nov. 2 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Waterhole #3, Fairview. A free-will donation meal of taco in a bag and a variety of desserts will be served. Both a silent and a live auction will also take place.
Since her diagnosis in early June, Friend says has given her life a 360-degree turn. She has gone on a strict diet, giving up sugar and flour and more, exercising and has stopped drinking and smoking. She is working with naturopaths in Ohio to build up her immune system and will then be doing low-dose chemotherapy.
"I know I'm coming out the other side and God will produce good fruit out of this."
Friend is married to Troy and has two small children. She works from home for Ferrellgas while Troy works for PlumbRite. She said she feels so honored and filled with gratitude for the whole community and overwhelmed by all the support she has received.
