McKenzie County Community Foundation Grant Application Deadline Sept. 29

The committee of the McKenzie County Community Foundation (MCCF) will be giving out $16,000 in grants to local organizations who serve McKenzie County. Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt organization, government agency, or have a fiscal sponsor with one of those designations.

Apply today online at http://www.NDCF.net/McKenzieCounty (“Apply for Grant” tab then “Apply Here” button). Applications are due by Sept. 29, 2024. The Foundation advisory committee will discuss the applications and determine grant awards shortly after the deadline.

The MCCF is a permanent endowment from which the local Advisory Committee takes applications, reviews, and grants out annual earnings based on the most pressing needs of the community, helping improve the quality of life in McKenzie County.

Last year’s grants were awarded to:

Benefit Fund of McKenzie County Healthcare Systems - $3,000 for their Infant Bereavement and Chronic Pain Management Programs

Long X Arts Foundation - $2,000 to bring in Missoula Children’s Theatre

Bakken Oil Rush Ministry - Watford City - $1,500 for their annual Toy Mall

Watford City Park District - $1,180 for the Badlands RC Build

Watford City Youth Basketball - $2,000 for their program

Hispanic Advocacy of North Dakota - $2,500 for La Posada 2023 (Hispanic Christmas program)

Keene Volunteer Fire Dept - $25,000

Thank you to those who have donated to the fund to help create a larger impact within your community year after year. Donations of any kind and amount are welcomed at any time of year. The local committee offers organizations, individuals, families, and business owners, who are from McKenzie County, a way to create a “Living Legacy”. Legacies serve the community forever through the back-office support of NDCF and directly through the McKenzie County Advisory Committee who make sure donors’ intent remains alive in the community. Certain donations qualify for a 40% state income tax credit in addition to IRS charitable deduction laws. The McKenzie County Community Foundation is a component fund of the North Dakota Community Foundation (NDCF). Established in 1976, NDCF provides all forms of charitable services for the community such as committee training, marketing, endowment management, gift planning, annual audit, gift and grant processing; so that committees can focus on building the fund, making it a significant resource for the community.
