Emmaus House Hosting Annual Fall Festival Hoedown Oct. 5

In a spirited evening filled with generosity, laughter, and community, the Emmaus House will be hosting their Annual Fall Festival Hoedown on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 5-9 p.m. at the Sidney Elks Lodge. The Elks building is located at 123 3rd St. SW.

There will be food, dancing, and live and silent auctions, all for the great cause of supporting the educational dreams of local students through the Vision of Hope Scholarship.

The Vision of Hope Scholarship is open to young adults in the Richland County area who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.  The scholarship aims to provide financial support to deserving students in the community who are pursuing higher education.  These scholarships have made a significant impact over the years, enabling young scholars with autism to attend colleges and universities they might not otherwise afford.  The 2024 Vision of Hope Scholarship was awarded to Avery Iversen. Avery is attending Minot State University.

The Emmaus House is a nonprofit organization based in Sidney.

The mission of the Emmaus House is to create a community that embraces the rule of Saint Benedict; to model a servant posture of prayer, simplicity, ministry, hospitality, contemplation, and balance, in order to set the world on fire with the love of God.

The Fall Festival Hoedown will cost $5 to enter the event. There will be food available for purchase, music, and entertainment throughout the night and also both live and silent auctions.

This event serves as a major source of funding for Emmaus House, and a celebration of the community's commitment to education.

Currently, raffle tickets are being sold for a handmade quilt, 15 lbs. of prime rib, and a Henry 22 Magnum rifle. Tickets can be purchased at www.Emmaus house.co.  Raffle winners will be announced at the event on Oct. 5. Need not be present to win.

"Join us for a fun night that you won't want to miss. We encourage you to wear western attire," said committee member, Jen Vaira.
