Bryan Cummins Benefit Set For Oct. 5

There will be a benefit for Bryan Cummins on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Waterhole #3 in Fairview. The silent auction runs from 4-7 p.m. with a free-will offering meal being served at 5 p.m. A live auction will follow at 8 p.m. Donations for the auctions may be dropped off with Kim at the Waterhole #3.

Cummins, who was diagnosed with Stage 3 esophageal cancer in mid-May, has undergone radiation and chemotherapy. His wife, Patti, said that he handled the therapies well although he was horribly tired. The doctors are optimistic but a PET scan in a couple of months will determine any further treatment.

Cummins served as the mayor of Fairview for 32 years, had a long career as an electrician, and added a meat cutting business in the early '90s until an explosion destroyed the business. He had recently been cutting meat at Neu's Super Valu but had to give that up the beginning of August.

Patti said Tim has been great throughout this tough time. She also expressed their deep appreciation to everyone for their support. "We've had lots of support. This is a good community," she said.

Your continued support is encouraged by attending the benefit on Saturday, Oct. 5.
