The “War In Watford” is a two-night, live hockey event featuring the Bismarck Bobcats and the Minot Minotauros of the North American Hockey League. This pre-season exhibition series is always competitive and action packed, as both teams have players looking to make the cut for the main roster. This family-friendly event will have a night full of fun for all ages.
This year, the “War In Watford” is themed as “The ‘80s Vs. The ‘90s. Friday, Sept. 6 will be 80’s night, and Saturday Sept. 7 will be ‘90s night. The Bobcats will be the team representing the ‘80s both nights, and the Minotauros will skate under the banner of the ‘90s. “Fans are encouraged to dress up and come in outfits, as we will have prizes and other fun interactive elements throughout the night.” said Brock White, City of Watford Marketing and Communications coordinator.
This year, they have added a new twist, with DASH Interactive online auctions, where fans can buy exclusive game used memorabilia, and replica jerseys, all from the convenience of their phone. There will also be the traditional live auction, which takes place after the last game on Saturday night. Fans can find out more about DASH on the “War In Watford” Event page on Facebook.
White said, “There’s really nothing like “The War In Watford” in our region. The over-the-top production, fast paced hockey, crowd interaction, and the amazing Rough Rider Center, combine to make it an event that people circle on the calendar and make sure they come to town for.”
Tickets are on sale now, starting at $10. They can be bought online at roughridercenter.com, or at the box office the day of the event. Make sure to follow The Rough Rider Center on social media for up-to-date information about “The War In Watford”.
