Serious Injury Crash In Rural McKenzie Co.

On Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 6:13 p.m. CT a 2013 Kenworth semi pulling a side dump trailer loaded with scoria was driving north on 142nd Ave. NW near 17th St. NW in McKenzie County. The Kenworth left the roadway and began to enter the east ditch. The driver, Connor Gravley, El Paso, TX, began to overcorrect in an attempt to keep the Kenworth on the roadway. The Kenworth overturned and came to rest on its roof in the east ditch of 142nd Ave. NW.

Gravley was seriously injured. He was transported to the McKenzie County Health, Watford City, and later flown to Trinity Health in Minot.

The participating agencies responding to the crash were North Dakota Highway Patrol, McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office, Arnegard Fire Department, and McKenzie County Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP. Driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
