Kringen Benefit Set For Sept. 14

A benefit is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14 to help support Kevin Kringen, a Sidney native, as he battles glioblastoma, a rare and incurable brain cancer for Saturday, Sept. 14.

Diagnosed in late May, 2024, Kevin has undergone surgery and is now receiving chemo and radiation treatments in hopes of spending more precious time with his family.

There will be “Wanna Be An Elk” four person scramble golf tournament. Registration will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m. with tee off at 10 a.m. at the Sidney Country Club.  Registration forms can be picked up at the Sidney Elks Lodge. The cost is $75 per golfer (does not include cart rental).   To register for the golf tournament, call Ryan Laqua at 406-480-9052 or the Sidney Elks Club office at 406-433- 2402.

There will also be a brisket and pulled pork dinner starting at 5 p.m. at the Elks’ Lodge. A silent auction will be held from 4-7 p.m. and a live auction starting at 7 p.m. For any benefit or auction questions call Josh Hermann at 509-951-2296 or Bobbie Selensky at 541-643-4202.

The mission of this fundraiser is to collect merchandise, gift certificates, and service donations from local businesses and supporters for an auction at the benefit.  They invite the community to join them in recognizing and appreciating the generosity of our donors and their businesses. To help us acknowledge our donors please include your business cards or brochure with your donation so they can be displayed alongside them. Thank you very much for your support and consideration.

Financial donations can also be made at the Sidney Elks’ Lodge.

Kringen has been a dedicated worker in our community. He worked as a seismographer for his good friend Monte Erickson and worked with his brother Randy at Kringen Construction and Sidney Rental. Most recently, he was employed by Trusty T Trucking as a water hauler, but his illness now prevents him from returning to work.

His infectious laughter, heartwarming stories, and commitment to volunteering, especially with the Richland Rangers Hockey Program, has touched countless lives in Sidney. Let’s come together to give back to someone who’s given so much to our community.
