The JCI Richland County Annual Demolition Derby will be Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Richland County Fairgrounds at 5:30 p.m.
General admission is $15, students ages 8-17 are $10, the senior citizen discount is $12, and ages five and under are free.
The entry fee to participate in the derby is $125 per car. The prize for first place is $5000, second place is $3000, third place is $1000, best paint is $250 and the mad dog award is $2000.
The gates will open up at 3:30 p.m. There will be a Calcutta at 4:30, and the show starts at 5:30. There will also be a lawnmower derby and SXS race. Food vendors and beer gardens will be available. “The derby serves as our chapters largest fundraiser each year, contributing to our scholarship fund, Halloween candy, meals for those in need at Thanksgiving, gifts for foster families at Christmas and our ONTO fund that assists members who want to further themselves through our leadership development at state and national conventions”, said Harleigh Manley, JCI USA 2024 National vice president.
