According to Detective Brandon Kindred of the McKenzie County Sheriff’s office, the investigation into the death of Valentine Ene who died several days after an assault on June 1, 2024 is on-going. The assault took place on private property on the North Dakota side of 32nd St. NW, Fairview.
The second individual has been identified. No charges have been filed.
As of Aug. 7, Kindred said the incident remains under active investigation. “There are lots of things we’re looking at,” he stated. “We need to look at all the avenues and evidence and gather all the facts.”
