Storbakkens Constantly Improving Performance Year-round

Jason Storbakken, Williston, ND, has always had a knack for working on cars. His neighbor, Dennis Losing, hooked onto his talents and helped him get started in stock car racing in 2006. Today, you'll find Jason and his family at races across the region, including the Williston Basin Speedway.

Jason races an IMCA stock car, and his youngest son races a hobby stock. All of them have been involved in turns, but his older children are currently focused on other activities. While he obviously enjoys working on his cars and constantly improving their performance, Jason loves the thrill of winning as well. They travel to races in Dickinson, Minot, Fargo, Mandan, Jamestown and larger ones out of state. This past weekend found them competing in Underwood, ND, at the Coal County Classic double header, and they plan to attend a race in Iowa with a purse of $100,000 and over 100 competitors.

In the winter, Jason packs up and races in Arizona, where his mentor Dennis also races.

This season, Jason has Corey Hemphill joining him in the shop and on the road. Corey is from Yuma, AZ, and met Jason while he was down racing. He owns Eliminator Motor Sports and races a stock car as well. Corey both operates equipment for Jason and is a vital part of their racing program.

Storbakken & Son Construction is owned and operated by Jason, and finds him building oilfield locations and roads when not pursuing racing perfection. Storbakken racing is sponsored by Level Up Cleaning Services, Eliminator Motor Sports, and Rev Theory Motors, Glasgow, MT.

The Williston Basin Speedway has four races left this season; Aug. 9, Kid's Night, Aug. 24, Championship Night, Sept. 14, Fall Round-Up Night #1, and Sept.15, Fall Round-Up Night #2.

Races start at 7 p.m., so beat the heat and get your need for speed this fall at the Williston Basin Speedway, and make sure to cheer on the Storbakken cars!
