Hagan 3rd In Long Jump At USATF Junior Olympic Track & Field Championship

Talon Hagan, Watford City, son of Korey and Dawn Hagan had a fun-filled and rewarding June and July 2024. At the USATF Dakotas Association Track Meet in Aberdeen, SD, June 8, Hagan took 1st in the Long Jump in the 9-10 age division. At the USATF Region 8 (IA, MN, NE, ND, SD, WI-July 5-7 Track Meet; Hagan took 1st in the Long Jump, 2nd in the 100-meter dash, and 2nd in the 200-meter dash.

On the way to the USATF Junior Olympic Championships in Bryan-College Station, TX, July 23-28, Hagan made a stop at the Big Sky State Games in Billings on July 21. In the 10-11 age group, he placed 1st in the Long Jump, 1st in the 55-meter dash, 2nd in the 100-meter dash, and 2nd in the 200-meter dash.

At the Junior Olympic Championship, Hagan took 3rd in the Long Jump, made the semi-finals of the 100-meter dash before finishing in 25th, and finished 29th in the 200-meter dash nationally.

Sibling, Taya Hagan, also participated in the USATF meets in the 8 and under age division. In the Long Jump, Taya was 2nd at the Dakotas Association, 4th at the Region 8, and 33rd at the Championship. At the Dakotas Association meet she also finished 2nd in the 200-meter dash and 4th in the 100-meter dash.

Talon & Taya will be entering the 5th and 3rd grades, respectively, at Fairview Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year.
