Williams County Injury Crash

On Monday, Aug. 5, 8:29 p.m. CT, a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling north bound in the 400 block of 32nd Ave. West, Williston. The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control while negotiating a slight left-hand curve. The driver, Derek Wehrman, lost control of the motorcycle and struck the east curb. The motorcycle struck the fire hydrant and came to rest in the roadway. The driver sustained serious injuries. The driver was transported by ambulance to CHI St Alexius, Williston and later flown to Trinity Hospital, Minot. The 400 block of 32nd Ave. West was shut down for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes for the crash investigation.

The charges were driving under the influence of alcohol.

At the time of the crash the road conditions were good and dry and the weather was partly cloudy.

The agencies who responded to the crash were North Dakota Highway Patrol, Williston Police Department, Williston Fire and Williston Ambulance.
