Florence Linder, 93, peacefully passed away on July 12, 2024, at Sidney Health Center Extended Care.

Florence Katherine (Riegel) Linder was born on April 5, 1931, in Werner, ND, to Leo and Louise (Frank) Riegel. She was baptized on May 14, 1931, and confirmed on July 23, 1944, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Halliday, ND. She graduated from Halliday High School in 1949. She loved being the big sister to her younger siblings, Delores and Loretta.

Florence married Ray Mohl in Halliday on Sept. 27, 1949, and the couple had two sons, Lynn and Barry. The family moved to Sidney, MT, in 1955 and tragically lost Lynn in an automobile accident in September 1967. In 1969, they purchased the Sidney Green House and owned and operated it until 1978. Ray lost his battle with lung cancer and passed away in September 1982. Barry was later married to Gayle Beckman and together they had Brandon, Florence's only grandchild. Barry passed away from cancer in October 2005.

Florence married Marvin Linder in 1991 and became the stepmother to stepsons Bill and Bruce Linder and stepdaughter Carla (Tom) Verhasselt. In 1995. She and Marvin began spending winters in Arizona where those new found friends became her second family. Marvin passed in September 2004.

Florence was a people person, enjoying conversations with friends and strangers and their various personalities. She received great pleasure in cooking, entertaining, gardening and nature. She traveled to 45 states and enjoyed many island cruises and trips to other countries, learning much about each new place she visited.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and her church family meant much to her. She always felt that the support she received from them and the Sidney community during her many trials was more than anyone could imagine and hope for.

Florence worked for Chad's Furniture as a clerk and bookkeeper for 30 years and as a clerk at John Stockhill Jewelers for 7 years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

While she slept peacefully, a glorious band of angels came to escort Florence to her heavenly home. She loved the Lord and took comfort in knowing that she would be reunited with her family in Heaven.

Florence is survived by her grandson, Brandon (Erin) Mohl and their two children Leilah and Bayler, Kent, WA; daughter-in-law Gayle Mohl, Missoula, MT; stepson Bill Linder, Sidney, MT; stepdaughter Carla Verhasselt, Sidney, MT, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by the loves of her life, husbands Ray Mohl and Marvin Linder; sons Lynn and Barry; sisters Delores and Loretta and her parents Leo and Louise.
