Construction on Holly at 9th St. SW will soon bring a Dollar General store to Sidney. According to City Building Inspector/Fire Marshall Kale Rasmussen, the 12,480 sq. ft. building should go up quickly. The company has their own builders, based out of Alabama, that provide a 90- to 120-day normal turn-around time.
The foundation is poured, dirt work is being done and sidewalks are being added along Holly, which Rasmussen said is an awesome addition to the street. "It really helps with foot traffic for people walking along there," he said.
Dollar General is owned by Sidney DG, Vestavia, AL.
Ag West Expands To Holly St.
In other exciting news, Rasmussen said that Ag West will be breaking ground on its new home across from the Justice Center this summer.
