Graveside services for Teddy "Ted" will be on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, ND with Pastor John Baseley officiating. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Sidney, MT, is assisting the family. Remembrances, condolences, and pictures may be shared with the family at http://www.fulkersons.com.
Teddy Thomas Sullivan was born Sept. 2, 1931, in Fairview, MT, to Thomas and Frances (Kanarr) Sullivan. He married June Ione Ketterling on April 10, 1952, in Sidney, MT. Ted and June spent 63 years together in Fairview, MT, until June's passing in 2016. They enjoyed sitting in front of their house, talking to passersby, and making sure the squirrels had enough to eat.
While Ted's formal education ended with the eighth grade, he did receive his GED and was self-educated through countless hours spent in the Sidney Public Library, as well as trial and error. He was quite knowledgeable on many subjects and was always willing to share that knowledge with others whether it was history, investing, agate hunting, set-line fishing, coin collecting, gardening, or even panning for gold, which Ted learned how to do later in life. Ted valued education, both formal and informal.
Ted was extremely proud of his many years serving in the Montana National Guard, as well as with the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a U.S Postal Carrier for over 30 years on the longest star route in Montana. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, working out, and spending time with family on the holidays where he always laid claim to the turkey neck (not that anyone put up a fight). His nieces and nephews enjoyed packing a lunch and tagging along on his mail route - they even got to put the mail in the mailboxes once in a while.
Teddy Thomas Sullivan died on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Sidney Extended Care. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Frances, his wife June, and six half brothers and sisters: Frank, Lou, Rose, Pearl, Elizabeth, and Helen. Ted is survived by his brother, Floyd (Linda) Sullivan, Fairview, MT, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Sidney Public Library.
