Killdeer Rodeo Kicks Off July 1-5

July 1-5, the Killdeer Saddle Club will host the 101st annual Killdeer Mountain Roundup PRCA Rodeo. Monday kicks off the week of rodeo with the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association Barrel Racing slack. The Calcutta begins Tuesday at 5 p.m., followed by the PRCA performance at 6 p.m.

Dunn Center will have a bouncy house at City Park on Wednesday, starting at 11 a.m. and a parade to follow at 1 p.m., with a potluck at City Park afterwards. The Calcutta for Wednesday’s PRCA performance will again be at 5 p.m. with the evening’s rodeo at 6 p.m.

At 8 a.m., Thursday morning, the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association events slack will run. The High Plains Community Center of Killdeer will have a BBQ from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and the Lions Club of Killdeer will begin their parade at 2 p.m. Thursday is Military Night at the rodeo, with free admission with a military ID, and fireworks to follow the performance.

For the last day of the Roundup, the “Buckin in the Bakken” BBQ Cookoff will take place at the Killdeer Saddle Club Arena from 4-7 p.m. and is a free will donation event. A free concert will also be offered, with Bart Crow as the opening act and Neal McCoy as headliner, which starts at 7 p.m.

Attendees to the rodeo are reminded that no coolers are allowed, and a concessions and beer garden will be on site. Adult admission is $15, and for children over 6, tickets are $5.
