HOBY's flagship program, the State Leadership Seminar, empowers high school sophomores to develop their leadership talents to become the leaders of their community. The seminar curriculum is based on the Social Change Model of Leadership and develops leadership from three perspectives: Personal Leadership, Group Leadership, and Leadership for Society.

The North Dakota HOBY Seminar will take place at Bismarck State College in Bismarck, ND from June 14-16.

Amber Severson, Alexander High School's Social Studies teacher said, "Tylan shows great leadership potential and will do an excellent job of representing Alexander."
