Sunrise City Cleanup Planned For Friday

Sidney residents are proud of their community but a winter’s accumulation of trash can diminish that pride and be unsightly to visitors.

In an effort to clean up as much of the town as possible, the current Sidney Chamber of Commerce leadership class has organized a Sunrise City Cleanup for Friday, May 10 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Participants are asked to meet at Veterans Park where they will receive supplies and a map of their specific area to clean. All volunteers will receive a drink token from The Rush, courtesy of this year’s sponsor Proactive Tech Wiz.

Prizes will be awarded in three categories with a special trophy and recognition in the media. Categories are: Most volunteers – business or group, biggest trash pile, and most youth volunteers. Show off what you accomplished! Take a picture of your group and the pile of trash you collected and send it to the Chamber.

The group is also challenging businesses to spring clean their store fronts and the block around their business.

To register for this fun and rewarding event, visit the Sidney Chamber office, 909 S. Central Ave., or text the word ‘volunteer’ to 406-206-7988. For more details, please call the Chamber at 406-433-1916.
