Skills Center Celebrates Grand Opening

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum congratulates McKenzie County Public Schools along with their many partnerships and donors at the Grand Opening of the Bakken Area Skills Center in Watford City. The Career and Technical Education facility is the first one several facilities to open in North Dakota. The BASC opened in January offering technical education and training for high school Students and citizens throughout the Bakken Region.

The mission of the Bakken Area Skills Center is to empower individuals through career and technical education, fostering a skilled workforce that meets the evolving needs of the region. The goal is to provide accessible, high-quality education and training programs that fuel personal growth, economic development; creating a sustainable future for the Bakken region.
