Funeral services for Jazzmaine Smith will be Tuesday April 16, 2024, at 10 a.m., at Ebenezer Congregational Church in Sidney with Pastor David Meehan officiating. Jazzmaine would like everyone to wear green in honor of her favorite color. A luncheon will follow the service for a time of fellowship and sharing. Visitation was Monday, April 15, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Fulkerson Stevenson Memorial Chapel, Sidney. A family receiving friends service was Monday April 15, 2024, at 5:30 p.m.. at the Fulkerson Stevenson Memorial Chapel, Sidney. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Sidney, assisted the family. Jazzmaine Smith, 22, passed away after a battle with cancer on Wednesday April 3, 2024, at the Sidney Health Center, Sidney, with family by her side.
Jazzmaine Shaylynn Shasta Smith was born July 28, 2001, in Tulsa, Okla., to Ronald Smith and Karen Richard. She joined three brothers: Travis, Kyle, and Chevy, and four sisters: Laurenda, Randi, Mercedes, and Cinnamon.
Jazzmaine was such a beautiful spirit inside and out. She had a passion for traveling the country and experiencing new things. She loved being a new mother and spending time with her son. She enjoyed being around people and having quality time with her family and friends. She met new friends everywhere she traveled to, and she was sure to make others laugh. She had a glow to her that was unmatched. She was very thankful for the community for helping her in her most challenging times. She fought hard and bravely, like she always was. She is starting her eternity in heaven where she is made new again.
Jazzmaine is survived by her son Francisco; her mother and father, Ronald Smith and Karen Richard, Sidney; brothers Travis Richard, Nebraska, Kyle Richard of South Dakota, and Chevy Smith, Montana; sisters Laurenda Olson, South Dakota, Randi Wooten, Texas, Mercedes Ivy, Texas, and Cinnamon Tubbs, North Dakota; and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Jazzmaine is preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Barbara Smith and Sam and Nancy Heustis, her aunt Beverly Hatch, uncle Dave Metzger, and her cousins.
