Kurt David Anderson was born Aug. 10, 1964, in New Haven, CT, to Kathleen Joyce and Paul S. Anderson, Jr. Kurt grew up in Oklahoma City, OK, playing football and basketball, driving fast cars, and enjoying movies and comic books. He worked hard from a young age to support his "fun." He grew up close to his family and seven cousins who live in Connecticut and Arizona.

Kurt graduated from John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City, OK, and went on to get his Bachelor of Science and master's degrees in education from Oklahoma City University. He started his teaching career immediately after graduation and it was the passion of his life. Teaching began in Oklahoma and took him to Texas, Georgia, Florida, and even Korea. When he traveled to Montana to teach, it became his home.

Kurt was a loving son, wonderful brother, and committed, lifelong friend. He loved walking into his classroom every day to teach about history, politics, and pop culture. His students were "his kids" and he affectionately nicknamed most of them. He was committed to reaching each one individually and helping them believe in what they were capable of. He found his heaven on earth in the community of Lambert, MT. His colleagues and friends in Lambert were added to his chosen family and he loved them dearly.

Kurt passed away on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at the St. Vincent's Health Care Center in Billings, MT.

Kurt is survived by his two cats Duke and Tempest; his sister Nancy Osmundson; brother-in-law Chris "Oz" Osmundson; nephew Thomas Taaca; niece Tiffany Taaca, and all of Bozeman, MT. He is also survived by his beloved cousins and friends across the country.

Part of Kurt will live on as his corneas have been donated to a matched individual. Kurt will give this person the gift of sight.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be given to the Kurt Anderson Foundation. These funds will be used in his honor for high school scholarships at Lambert High School. Donations are tax deductible and may be mailed to: Kurt Anderson Foundation, care of Nancy Osmundson at 4602 West Dry Creek Road, Belgrade, MT 59714.
