Sidney Chamber Holiday Gala Happened Nov. 25

With the holidays getting closer, the Sidney Chamber of Commerce decided to hold a Holiday Gala Saturday, Nov. 25, in an effort to up the festivities around town for the holidays.

Dueling Pianos, Denver, CO, played on the street-level floor of the Sidney Yellowstone Mercantile Saturday, Nov. 25. Serena Kringen, the owner of the building and Yellowstone Perc, had a vision for this event in her new venue space. It turned out so elegant that the chamber was motivated to make it happen sooner than later. Besides the show and drinks, there was a prime rib dinner and a dessert auction.

According to “offthewagonrocks.com”, a dueling piano show is a musical feast for the senses; two piano players face each other and take turns singing. It’s a battle to the entertainment of the crowd. According to Dueling Piano’s website, http://www.duelingpianosroadshow.com, “Dueling Pianos Road Show” and its affiliates and subsidiaries, have been in continuous business since 1991 in the Denver area, have presences in the Las Vegas and Seattle/Portland areas since 2006, and perform across the U.S. Their interactive all-request shows are known nationwide and attract corporate, college, nonprofit, and private parties alike. Their signature 7’ White Grand Pianos and nationally known entertainers have played at Sing Sing, Wild Ivories, The Reef, Pat O’Brien’s, Howl at the Moon, Cruise Ships, and NYNY. Exclusively, they put on an organic and traditional request-driven interactive Dueling Pianos show with comedy and audience participation.” Lisa Gorder, chamber director of projects had a connection to the company this dueling pianos group plays for and she was able to get them to town on short notice.

The gala was a fundraiser for the Chamber. Specifically, to help fund a downtown renewal master plan project they have going. It will also benefit a few other area nonprofits that help them out with volunteers. The Sidney Wrestling Club provided a valet service.
