Sidney’s own Ace Hardware opened on May 22. It was a soft opening, but means the store was open in time for the start of the growing season.
Manager Reece Gairrett, Owner Skip King, and all of the local Ace Hardware employees worked hard through the month of May to get everything ready for opening day. Gairrett said, “We are very close to fully staffed, close enough to open the doors.” The store is not yet fully stocked either. There are a few shelves that are still waiting for vendors’ deliveries and they are not going to have a Garden Center until the 2024 planting season. Gairrett said, Sidney’s Ace Hardware is now open 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sundays. There are not any sales in the rest of May except the in-store specials, but there will be a regular sale flyer in the papers starting in June. They plan on having a grand opening in August.
Sidney’s Ace Hardware is now open for business and able to bring several quality brands of tools, hardware, and outdoor goods to Sidney.
