Boys & Girls Club Of The MonDak Food Boxes For Families

Boys & Girls Club of the MonDak will once again be handing out Holiday Food Boxes for families in need this Holiday season. The distribution is set for Dec. 20 at the Boys & Girls Club Clubhouse, 201 3rd Ave. SE, Sidney. While the Richland County Food Bank dedicates their Holiday food box program to elderly and disabled community members, the Boys & Girls Club focuses on families with children in the household. Boys & Girls Club started the Holiday food box program in 2020 after witnessing the critical need for food security in our community while serving meals to families during the pandemic closures and throughout the summer. Today, food security for children and families is still a key part of the Club's mission. Thanks to partnerships with Montana Food Bank Network, Montana No Kid Hungry, OPI Summer Food Program, Reynolds Market, and The Market in Sidney, they provide food, at no cost, to families in multiple ways. Free weekend food backpacks are sent out to referred children in the county every week during the school year. During the summer, free lunches are available for kids and teens, and free food boxes are distributed to the community whenever supplies are available. All these services are open to any community family with children, even if the children are not members of the Club. These are in addition to all the nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks provided to members all year long.

If you would like to donate towards the Holiday food boxes or any of the other BGC food programs, please contact Madison or Janelle at the Boys & Girls Club office at 406-433-6763 or email at [email protected] or [email protected].
