Each year, the McKenzie County Community Foundation provides grants to organizations doing charitable work in McKenzie County. This year, they are awarding $13,180 towards area projects.
2023 Community Foundation awardees include: Long X Arts Foundation for their Missoula Children's Theater program; Benefit Fund of McKenzie County Healthcare Systems towards an Infant Bereavement Program and Chronic Care Management Program; Watford City Park District for remote control car kits for youth programming; Alexander Youth Wrestling Club, Bakken Oil Rush Ministry for their annual toy mall; and Watford City Youth Basketball.
Since its establishment in 2010, the McKenzie County Community Foundation has awarded over $63,000 in grants to area organizations. It is set up as a permanent endowment through the North Dakota Community Foundation. Contributions to the Foundation have ranged from $50 to $50,000, and are fully tax deductible as a 501c3 charitable contribution. Earnings from the fund are given as grants each year to McKenzie County organizations. The next time grant applications will be accepted is in September 2024.
