Our community has put together an amazing line-up of events for the month of December that we are officially calling the Reindeer Games. The Sidney Chamber of Commerce has these events listed on their community calendar. The MonDak Heritage Center is offering a Christmas Calligraphy class on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m., which provides another fun night to be creative for the holidays.
As we get closer to Christmas, Dec. 9 is packed with fun activities. There is a Cookie Crawl at participating area businesses. You will find a cookie to sample while you “shop ‘til you drop” and you will also find a few fun activities along the way. A Holiday Open House at Reynolds Market kicks off at 10 a.m. with the Santa Run at Fox Run and the Sunrise City Craft and Vendor show at the Richland County Event Center from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. This is a great place to shop for unique and fun presents for all. Meraki is offering a second Christmas Candle pouring from 12-4 p.m. and there are pet photos with Santa at Tractor Supply for a fun way to incorporate your pet into your Christmas fun! Finishing the day is a Paint and Sip class offered by Penny Filler at Mimi’s. Miss Penny has created a sweet reindeer picture to add to your holiday décor.
The following day, Dec. 10 is the Elk’s Christmas Dinner from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. This event is providing turkey, ham, sides, and desserts. There will be door prizes for kids, Santa will be there for pictures, and the meal is a free will offering. After a great meal, there is an afternoon of fun at the MonDak Heritage Center. Christmas in Whoville will have live music, pictures with Santa, Grinch gift giveaway, bake sales, free youth art project, and more!
Meraki has scheduled a Paint and Sip with Multiple Impressions on Dec. 16. Sam Rush will be hosting a Highland Paint Party and class attendees will have an opportunity to shop in the store.
Friday, Dec. 22, Richland Hockey has their alumni hockey tournament followed by an Ugly Sweater Party at the Ranger Lounge, Casino, and Eatery from 9-11:45 p.m.
These events and more can be found on the Sidney Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s website. If you have an event that you would like to add to the community calendar, please go to our website. Click on News and Events, then on Community Calendar Submissions. Area businesses and groups are welcome to upload their flyers and information to share with the area.
