Fairview Football Trounces Plentywood

The Fairview Warrior football team wrapped up their regular season with a 60-12 trouncing of the Plentywood Wildcats. The 8-0 Warriors are the Eastern Conference Champions and #1 seed going into the playoffs in two weeks. They will host the #3 seed out of the north, which looks like Shelby at this time, at 1p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28.

While the offense once again lit up the scoreboard, the defense continued to prove that it is the true strength of this team keeping Plentywood's offense out of the end zone. Keegan Skogas led the team with 10 tackles, 4 for a loss. Gavin Serafini had 6 tackles and 2 quarterback sacks. Landen Thompson was an immovable force in the middle of the line recording 4 tackles, 1 for a loss, and disrupting the run game all night. Deacon Gackle, Jeff Tjelde, and Troy Karst each had an interception. Offensively, the Warriors had no trouble moving the ball and finding pay dirt in the air and on the ground. Wyatt McPherson led the team with 138 yards rushing on 9 carries and 2 touchdowns. Brock Schlothauer had 10 carries for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tjelde was 12-16 passing for 279 yards and 4 touchdowns, 3 of which went to Jaxon Vitt. McPherson also caught 3 passes for 90 yards and another touchdown. Gackle had 6 catches for 116 yards and a two-point conversion. Skogas was successful on 5 two-point conversion runs. Fairview ran 45 plays for 552 total yards and 8 touchdowns.

The Warriors are off this week.
