Eagle Foundation Holding Fundraiser For Grants To Benefit Sidney Public School Students

The annual Turkey Bingo, a fundraiser benefiting the Eagle Foundation will be held on Nov. 3, at 1035 Brewing. The local favorite is a night full of fun and giving.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and is for people 18 and older. 25 games are to be played and 25 turkeys are to be won, with loads of fun to be had. Sidney Wrestling Club will be providing food for purchase. There will be the usual turkeys to be won, donated by Reynold's Market as well as Visa gift cards for prizes at blackout. There are also bleacher seats for sale to benefit the Eagle Foundation at the district administration office and on Facebook as well as a Bunny Bingo event close to Easter. Proceeds will go to the classroom grant programs for the current and next school year.

The Eagle Foundation has been raising funds for the betterment of students in Sidney's Public Schools through a series of grants since 2001. The grants are meant to offset the costs of things that are not completely covered by government funding. Their first grant to help offset the cost of a large project went towards funding new bleachers in the high school football stadium. Since then they have funded everything from an author doing a conversation over Zoom to a drunk driving simulator, CPR dummies, and school supplies. The foundation's nine current board members represent both educators and community members. Katie Dasinger, original board member Terry Averett, Julian Stanek, McKen-z Pennington, Warren Clark, Megan Coryell, Travis Rosaaen, Jace Johnson, and Sharri Vandall hold the positions, currently.

Thanks to their sponsors: Reynold's Market, Dasinger Oil, Niehenke Welding, Richland Aviation, and Richland Pump and Supply. 100% of the proceeds stay local and go to SPS teachers and students through annual grants. 1035 Brewing is located at 933 Lincoln Ave.
