Readers are in for a treat on Saturday, June 3 as Page Turners, the book store in Fairview, hosts Alexander author Sandy Rieker for a reading and signing of her book "The Most Unlikely Pair." The reading will be at 1 p.m. followed by the book signing until 3 p.m.
Rieker says she got her inspiration from watching her own farm animals and wrote the story about a chicken and a goat that become friends with one another after being adopted. Her intention is to teach kids that it's okay to be different and to always be kind to one another. Amazing illustrations by Cheryl Brown accompany the story.
Co-owner Betty Cherrey said she and her daughter and co-owner Sarah Manuel are delighted to host what is hopefully the first of many such events with regional authors being the focus. "We invite everyone to come in and meet Sandy. She's a lovely person," Cherrey said of Rieker.
Page Turners is also celebrating its first anniversary through May 31. Purchasers will be registered to win a tote filled with a signed copy of a book, a bookmark and a $20 gift card. So hurry in now to find that special book for yourself or as a gift. Father's Day is coming soon!
Page Turners is conveniently open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at 214 S. Central, Fairview. Stop in, call them at 406-742-5700, email them at [email protected] or connect on Facebook.
