(Updated 5-19-23): The senior sober night planned for the graduating class of 2023 at Sidney high school has been canceled due to lack of participation. Organizer Robyn Heck said, “I’d be happy to try again another year, and I really want to thank the two businesses that did donate: B&B Builders and Johnson’s Hardware and Furniture.“ Their donations will be returned.
(Original story): The Sidney High School seniors graduate on Sunday, May 21 and a group of junior parents are putting together an event for the senior class from 9 p.m.-dawn.
Students will scavenger hunt around town for prizes and “money”. At dawn they will have a Chinese style action for prizes. Organizer Robyn Heck said, “If it keeps one person from drinking on graduation night, it will be worth it.”
