Three members of the Sidney Tendo Tae Kwon Do school traveled to Billings on Saturday, April 29 to participate in the 56th Annual Karlo Fujiwara Memorial Taekwondo and Judo Tournament held at the MSU-Billings Alterowitz Gym. There were 125 competitors from North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming.
Mike Bergh, 7th Dan; and Jerrold Baxter, 3rd Dan; went to assist in refereeing and judging.
Harrison Green in the 12-14-year-olds brown belt boys division participated and placed 1st in his forms division, 2nd in sparring and 1st in board breaking.
Jarrold Baxter was honored with the Karlo Fujiwara annual Leadership award that is given to one instructor that has shown exceptional efforts to promote Tae Kwon Do locally and within the region.
In Sidney, Baxter recently created a booster club that has raised revenue to secure floor mats and other safety equipment. He was also able to produce a recent seminar that brought US Tae Kwon Do Olymic coach Stephen Lambdin to put on for local martial artists.
