(Updated 4-6-23) The following story has been updated to include the name of the driver of the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado.
On April 3 at approximately 11:44 p.m. CT there was a single vehicle rollover.
A 2012 silver Chevrolet Silverado was westbound on HWY 2, when the driver, Whitney Adams, 34 of Williston, ND, lost control of vehicle due to ice on the roadway, entered the median, and overturned. Adams and both occupants were ejected as none of them were using seatbelts. One juvenile came to rest on the roadway, where she was subsequently struck by an empty truck tractor/semi-trailer. The other juvenile came to rest in the median. Both juveniles were pronounced deceased on scene. Adams was transported by EMS with serious injuries. The passengers were a 12-year-old female, and a 13-year-old female both from Williston, ND.
At the time of the crash the road conditions had scattered ice and the weather conditions were light snow.
The agencies who responded to the crash were, North Dakota Highway Patrol, Ward County Sheriff’s Office, Mountrail County Sheriff's Office, Berthold Ambulance and Berthold Fire.
The name of the driver will be released at a later time.
This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
