Two individuals were shot, late Wednesday night, March 22, in an apartment on the 700 block of N. Main St., Watford City.
Watford City Police were dispatched to the location at around 11:42 p.m. for a report of two people who had received gunshot wounds. Officers arrived on the scene and administered medical aid. Both were transported to the McKenzie County Hospital for medical treatment. One patient, a male, had minor injuries. The other patient, a female, had more serious injuries and was taken to a different facility where she died from her injuries, according to a press release posted by Watford City Police Department on Friday, March 24.
The matter is still under investigation and is believed to be an isolated incident and directly related to the two victims. The identities of the two individuals and all others involved are not being released to allow for proper notifications to the family members of those involved and because the investigation is still open.
