Books on Broadway Celebrates Literary Dogs

Books On Broadway in Williston welcomed children of all ages Saturday, Feb. 25 to celebrate Literary Dogs, particularly Clifford the Big Red Dog, but also Old Yeller, Seaman, and Dog Man. Kids enjoyed snacks, a scavenger hunt and coloring.

The event kicked off a month's long celebration honoring the store's founder, Robin Wilder, who loved animals, especially dogs. Her birthday was Feb. 3. Robin passed away in January 2000, but her husband Chuck and his staff have kept the unique independent book store thriving.

Robin had a way with kids, animals and even adults, a kindness that people remember to this day, a way of thinking of her customers and making them feel like good friends and even family. Books on Broadway is collecting stories and memories of Robin and would love to hear from anyone willing to share. There is a drop box by the register, or share on Facebook or Instagram @booksonbroadwaywilliston, or go to their website http://www.booksonbroadwaywilliston.com.

Events are being planned for each month, culminating with a big 30th Anniversary party in November.
