On Wednesday, Jan. 18 at approximately 6:25 a.m. CST on Hwy 2 near mile marker 37, approximately 12 miles north of Williston, ND there was a fatality crash.
A 2014 Ford F350 driven by Brendon Molloy a 20-year-old male, Wildrose, ND, was traveling eastbound on Highway 2. A 2011 Peterbilt truck driven by Enrique Santiesteban a 61-year-old male, Watford City, was traveling in the eastbound driving lane with its hazard lights illuminated slowing down to make a turn at an upcoming intersection. The Ford struck the rear of the trailer being pulled by the Peterbilt. Molloy sustained serious injuries and was taken by Ambulance to CHI St. Alexius in Williston where he was later pronounced deceased. Santiesteban the driver and Juan Buenrostro Macia, passenger of the Peterbilt were uninjured.
At the time of the crash the road conditions were wet and the weather conditions were cloudy.
The agencies who responded to the crash were North Dakota Highway Patrol, Williams County Sheriff’s Office, Williston Rural Fire and Ambulance, and Epping Fire department.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol
